Turner & Associates

Designer Constructions was engaged to manifest the design concepts of the Sydney headquarters of Turner & Associates.

The reception furniture was handcrafted using the original unwanted hardwood-ceiling joist extracted during building alterations. The timber was machine dressed to the required sizing and implemented into the reception components. Our philosophy was to incorporate at least one piece of re-cycled timber in each of the new pieces of furniture.

A mobile wall, custom built onsite, had two main functions. Firstly, to obscure the kitchen whilst internal meetings took place in the adjoining space, and secondly, the surface itself was magnetised to enable large architectural drawings to be displayed during such meetings.

The shelving units were made using an environmentally friendly product, “EO” Melamine sheeting which has zero formaldehyde content. Ceiling lighting design above the boardroom table featured a Southern Cross motif. Within the boardroom table were hidden cabling with a touch release to access the audiovisual and communications panel.
