Turner Studio: Architectural Office

Turner Studio: Architectural Office

Designer Constructions (the former incarnation of Code Green) was engaged to create a totally bespoke Australian headquarters for Turner Studio. With 998m2 of space to work with, our team brought the bare space to life.

Our team provided a complete, end-to-end solution for the clients:

Concept Design Consultation: we worked with the Turner design team to develop a design that was able to be built efficiently, while also minimising waste.
Design Realisation: Inventing ways in which the designs on paper can be built in reality.
Construction: Working with our team of skilled tradespeople to deliver the level of finish for which we are renowned.
Project Management: Total oversight and management of the project, completing it on time and within budget.

Our skilled tradesmen and craftsmen handmade all the joinery and steel furniture. All the work stations, meeting tables and board room table frames were handcrafted to match one another, each with an intentional diagonal leg, to act as both a structural element and as an aesthetic piece.

To eliminate the appearance of power cabling, all workstations had their cables running through the tubing and into a hidden guttering system fabricated to the underside of the benchtops. Each workstation has its own additional slide-out benchtop to allow the staff to have additional workspace when required.
The LED pendant lights over the work stations were all hand made by our metal craftsmen.

Our team designed and developed a joinery wall system in which 7.8 lineal kilometres of timber slats were pieced together to create separating walls. The task was made extremely difficult due to the variances in the existing concrete floor of up to 90mm; to achieve the desired appearance, the accuracy of the slats would be paramount. Our team was able to precisely line up all the slats throughout the space, creating the desired effect.

Custom planter boxes were made to house the beautiful full-leafed plants, which were introduced for their aesthetic appeal as well as inviting nature into the work space.
All meeting and boardroom tables were handmade, fabricated on site due to their weight. The boardroom table alone measures over six meters in length and weighs over 300kg.
The front reception counter was handcrafted and lined with specialist metal sheeting, finished with a Caesar stone top with reverse shark tooth-style edging for aesthetic appeal and also for durability.

Other elements included stone feature walls in the board rooms, automated drop-down video screens with projectors and concealed WiFi transmitters. The end product reflects not only the high standards of our craftmanship, but also the professionalism and finish that Turner Studio provide for clients with their designs.
